Returning again this year to our lineup of day camp programs is the March Break Day Camp! This camp will operate out of the Jackrabbit Lodge at North Bay Nordic Ski Club (630 Northshore Rd., North Bay). This is an incredible winter location with incredible winter facilities. Participants will have the opportunity to cross country ski, snowshoe, build snow shelters, play in depth nature games in the snow, track animals, do snow experiments, and do winter crafts. The camp is run by Nature & You Outdoor Education staff, who have many years of experience working with children in an outdoor setting. We all have a passion for the winter, and hope to share this with participants while playing outdoors. Although many of the activities are outdoors and active, the days will also be structured with numerous low key activities and opportunities for food and rest to help kids pace themselves throughout the day.
The camp is open to ages 4-11, scheduled programming runs from 9:00am to 4:00pm, with drop-off and pick-up any time between 8:00am and 4:45pm. The cost for the camp is $180 for the week or $40 for individual days. These fees also include cross country ski rentals (if needed), snowshoes, and trail passes for North Bay Nordic's trail network. Participants are expected to bring their own nut-free lunch. Additional snacks will be provided.
Program Highlights for the week: - Snowshoeing through the forest - Cross Country Skiing - Shelter (Snow) building - Animal Tracking - Forest Games - Snow Experiments - Winter Nature Crafts
